Our Community
In our own beautiful community, there are people in need. We strongly encourage our parishioners to get involved and be active in the community through outreach. Our three Deacons, Bev, Frank and Cathy lead by example.
Local Food Bank Outreach. Every second Sunday parishioners are asked to bring non-perishable food items for a local food bank. These are put on the Altar steps and blessed before being delivered.
Women in Need. Deacon Cathy Stone is active in providing services at Cameron House in the city and a former Executive Director of the Rural Outreach Committee which provides support for women in need in rural communities surrounding the city.
Tending for the Sick. Deacon Bev Thompson works extensively with patients at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. With her gentle and cheerful approach, she is a source of comfort to people who are ill or in pain.
Loving the Marginalized. Deacon Frank Tyrrell provides support for groups of people who are often forgotten by society. In the interest of privacy, we cannot publish details, but the people with whom he works on a daily basis have come to know and appreciate his efforts.
